How do I book?

Is the spa included in the rate?

Yes, the private spa (heated outdoor jacuzzi) is included in all rates, with no extra charge.

Can I book for a weekend?

Yes, weekend rentals (minimum 2 nights) are available in low season. See rates.

Is bed linen provided?

Yes, bed linen, towels and bathrobes are provided and included in the rate.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not accepted at Gîte Eth Souët.

Is there parking?

Yes, a private enclosed car park is included free of charge for all stays.

Is the gîte open all year?

Yes, the gîte is open 12 months a year. Check availability on the Rates page.

What languages do you speak?

How do I get to the gîte?

The gîte is in Gaillagos, in the Val d'Azun, 20 km from Lourdes. No public transport goes up to the village: you will need a car to get here, and it is very handy on site for reaching the ski resorts, hiking trails and sights of the Pyrenees.

By car

  • Toulouse: 200 km, about 2 h 30 (A64 motorway, then Lourdes and Argelès-Gazost)
  • Bordeaux: 270 km, about 3 h 15 (via Pau)
  • Pau: 60 km, about 1 h 10 · Tarbes: 45 km, about 40 min
  • Spain: San Sebastián 220 km (about 2 h 45), Pamplona 270 km (about 3 h 30), Zaragoza 230 km via the Col du Portalet (about 3 h 45, mountain road)
  • In winter, winter tyres or snow chains are recommended for driving up to the ski resorts; they are not required to reach the gîte.

By train to Lourdes

  • Lourdes station is 20 km away (25 min by car).
  • Direct TGV high-speed trains from Paris-Montparnasse (about 5 h) and a night train from Paris-Austerlitz.
  • Intercités and regional TER trains from Toulouse, Bordeaux, Pau and Hendaye.

By plane

  • Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport: 33 km, about 40 min
  • Pau-Pyrénées airport: 70 km, about 1 h 15
  • Toulouse-Blagnac (about 2 h 30) and Biarritz (about 2 h 15)

Renting a car

Car rental companies (Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt…) have desks at Lourdes station and Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport. Book ahead, especially during school holidays, and check opening hours: some desks close on Sundays.

Without a car?

The liO bus line 965 runs from Lourdes station to Argelès-Gazost, 8 km from the gîte, but no bus goes up to Gaillagos: you will need a taxi for the last stretch. Get in touch and we will help you plan your arrival.

Can we get there without a car?

The gîte is not served by public transport. The easiest option is to rent a car at Lourdes station or Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport. By bus, line liO 965 runs from Lourdes to Argelès-Gazost (8 km from the gîte), then you need a taxi. See how to get here.

Where are the nearest train station and airport?

Lourdes station is 20 km away (25 min by car), with direct TGV trains from Paris. The nearest airport is Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées, 33 km away (about 40 min); Pau-Pyrénées is 1 h 15 away and Toulouse-Blagnac 2 h 30.

Do I need snow tyres to get to the gîte?

No, snow tyres or chains are not required to reach the gîte. They are, however, recommended in winter for driving up to the ski resorts.
